\\ In this course, we want to renounce to the classical notions of external and internal, of cities and architecture, space and object.
We want to have a more global view of the project, which could be defined cosmological.
\\ The spaces of the city and architecture are not given once and for all. We think of space not as a matter of fact, but in an evolutionary sense. Under these conditions of continuous regeneration of the spaces, the man becomes the main reference, from which every reasoning about space start. We ask how space affects the use, or at the opposite, how the actions of man affect the processes of transformation of space. We believe that the quality of the space is no longer determined only by the quality of the architecture, but by other phenomena, such as objects, the product category, the experiential reality, the tangible and intangible services, and especially the amount of human actions of those who live the places.
\\ Architecture is no longer able to summarize the whole sense of space, but it represents only a part of a more complex system of relations, between subjects of different nature, natural and artificial, animate and inanimate, real and virtual. In these new and heterogeneous conditions the architectural project resembles more and more to a project of a “director”. So, the quality of the space no longer lies only on the architectural characteristics, but also and above all on its possibilities of use: access to services, the exploitation of microclimate quality, networks, sound climates, olfactory qualities and sensory qualities in general, etc.
\\ In questo corso vogliamo rinunciare alle nozioni classiche di esterno e interno, di città e architettura, di spazio e oggetto.
Vogliamo avere una visione più globale del progetto, che potremmo definire cosmologica.
\\ Gli spazi della città e dell’architettura non sono dati una volta per tutte. Pensiamo allo spazio non come a un dato di fatto, ma in senso evolutivo. In queste condizioni di continua rigenerazione degli spazi, l’uomo diventa il riferimento principale, dal quale parte ogni ragionamento sullo spazio. Ci domandiamo quanto lo spazio influenzi l’uso, o al contrario, quanto le azioni compiute dall’uomo influenzino i processi di trasformazione dello spazio. Noi pensiamo che la qualità dello spazio non sia più determinata soltanto dalla qualità dell’architettura, ma da altri fenomeni, come gli oggetti, la merceologia, le realtà esperienziali, i servizi materiali e immateriali, ma soprattutto la quantità di azioni umane di chi abita i luoghi.
\\ L’architettura non è più una categoria capace di riassumere in se l’intero senso dello spazio, ma rappresenta soltanto una parte di un più complesso sistema di relazioni, tra soggetti di differente natura, naturali e artificiali, animati e inanimati, reali e virtuali.
In queste nuove ed eterogenee condizioni il progetto di architettura assomiglia sempre più ad un progetto di regia. Così, la qualità dello spazio non viene più affida soltanto alle sue caratteristiche architettoniche, ma anche e soprattutto alle sue possibilità d’uso: l’accesso ai servizi, lo sfruttamento delle qualità microclimatiche, la rete, i climi sonori, le qualità olfattive e sensoriali in genere.
