\ HALL01 is the first in a series of 32 subprojects that are part of the long term project HALL33 by TAAT.
\ HALL33 is a theatre play that is a building/a building that is a theatre play.
TAAT (Theatre as Architecture Architecture as Theatre) is a multidisciplinary collective operating on the cutting edge of theatre, architecture, visual art and design. TAAT was founded in 2012 by Dutch theatre maker Gert-Jan Stam and Belgian architect Breg Horemans.
\ In developing the ‘architectural dramaturgy’ for HALL33 TAAT works with Open Source Design, incorporating specialist and non-specialists in the development of each sub project. TAAT incorporates and promotes co-creation and aims to bring together artists, other professionals, audience, institutions, government and companies based on the ideals of a ‘shared economy’.
\ HALL01 uses the industrial features of the SAM decorfabriek and introduces a modular system as the basic setup for HALL. This wooden modular system will be applied for the first five sub projects and then evaluated.
HALL02 is scheduled for Köln in Germany in September 2014 and HALL03 for Kortrijk in Belgium for October 2014.
