\ After ‘De Openbaring’ (The Revelation) and ‘De Verleiding’ (The Seduction), the third part is a continuation of Maarten Westra Hoekzema’s triptych lecture performance series. The performance is called ‘Testament’. The set design consists of a preachers chair, which could be devoted to all religions. The transparent set-up shows the speaker in his ‘nakedness’ playing with transparency and different ways of lighting. The chair has clearly two sides: an open ’throne’ side and a more abstract preacher side. By turning the object, an optical game of open and closed diafragmas interacts with a bright white spotlight, looking up for redemption.
